Paula Metzger Martin
Paula M. Martin, 51, of Greenville, wife of John Martin, died on Monday, December 19, 2016.
Born in Charleston, WV she was the daughter of the late John Paul Metzger and the late Janice Burden Metzger. Mrs. Martin was a member of Simpsonville United Methodist Church. She began working for General Electric in 1988 after obtaining a degree in mechanical engineering from West Virginia Technical College, and ended her 28-year career as the general manager of global repair solutions at GE Power Services.
She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, doing everything from playing board games to exploring the outdoors. She particularly loved being around water; beaches, lakes, and rivers were among her favorite destinations. Her adventurous spirit was reflected in her love for hiking, water skiing, and scuba diving.
In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by three daughters, Taylor, Lauren, and Ashleigh Martin, all of the home; one sister, Linda M. Hainkel; and four brothers, Kevin, Chris, Jason, and Jamie Metzger.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by two brothers, David Metzger and Gary Metzger.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Simpsonville.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Simpsonville United Methodist Church with Rev. Joel Jones officiating.
