Oliver Richard Hunt, 85, widower of Martha Jo White Hunt, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018. Born in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late Chauncey McKinley Hunt, Sr. and the late Buna Myrtle Stalnaker.

A Funeral Service will be help at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fountain Inn on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 2:30 pm. A visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hunt-Stalnaker Scholarship Fund at Glenville State College Foundation, 200 High Street, Glenville, WV 26351.
I am saddened with the news of Oliver’s passing. He was an active manager of the Hunt Stalnaker Scholarship, insisting that his “kids” communicate regularly with him and Martha. He truly enjoyed the art of giving back, and countless young men and women from rural West Virginia are leading productive lives due to their generosity. It has been said that there are truly only two kinds of people in the world, givers and takers. Martha and Oliver were true givers. Blessing to the family in this moment of remembrance.
We extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Oliver Hunt. We first met Oliver and Martha and family when I worked with Oliver at the DuPont Plant in Huron, Ohio. “Ollie” took me under his care and helped me become a better golfer. Golf was always a significant part of our friendship.
We had the pleasure of being present at a special anniversary in Fountain Inn several years ago and have fond memories of that occasion as well.
We pray that God’s peace be with you, Dick and Mary Kay Haden
It was an honor to work with Oliver while he was at The Crossings, his smile and laugh could light up a room. He was an absolute joy to be around and amways could find a way to make you smile even on a rough day. He truly will be missed!
