Nancy Martin Steading

Nancy Martin Steading, 78, of Mauldin, SC went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2023 after a renewed battle with lymphoma.

Nancy was born in Greenwood, SC to La-Forrest and Carolyn Martin. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Alvin Steading, her two sons, Ken Turner (Lynn), Craig Steading (Teresa); her sister Becky Tollison; seven grandchildren, Erica Rushton (Bryan), Brandon Turner (Lana), Tabitha Steading, Samantha Turner, Madison Turner, Will Young, Erin Keller (Evan); and great-grandson, Beau Keller.  She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Turner, her grandson, Chris Turner, her parents, her sister, Betty Sargeant, and brother, Jimmy Martin.

Nancy graduated from Ninety-Six High School in 1963 where she was crowned a class beauty.  She had an entrepreneurial spirit and successfully operated her own fabric shop in her early twenties.  Her love of crafting and evergreen thumb provided the most beautiful treasures she thoughtfully gave to her family, friends, and anyone who she encountered.  She was a dedicated member of Cathedral Community Church where she enjoyed worshiping the Lord and fellowshipping with the Ladies Group.  Nancy will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, intelligence, determination, savviness, and her eternal love of family and friends.

The memorial service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held at Cathedral Community Church on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11 o’clock in the morning.  Honorary attendees will be the Ladies Group of Cathedral Community Church and the caregivers at Legacy Reserve at Fairview Park.  Her family will be present to welcome loved ones following the service.
