Mieczyslaw Wegierek

Mieczyslaw Wegierek, 85, of Simpsonville, SC peacefully entered Heaven on July 19, 2009. Born in Kielce, Poland, he migrated to the United States after WW II and became a U.S. Citizen. He retired from Western Electric in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Simpsonville, SC in 1992.

He is survived by a daughter Teresa Wegierek Shelf and family Chip, Lydia, Sarah and Michael; a son Les Wegierek Mitchell and family Jennifer, Luke and Emily. He also had an extended family in Simpsonville. Also surviving are his remaining family in Kielce, Poland, whom he supported all of his life, and by his life-long friends from Chicago.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 24th, at Cannon Memorial Park Mausoleum, Fountain Inn, SC.

Following the services family and friends are cordially invited to a celebration of Mitch’s life at the Shelf residence, 102 Gary Avenue, Simpsonville. Our father enjoyed celebrations.
