Lois Ida Blumhorst
Lois Blumhorst, 84, of Fountain Inn, wife of Thomas L. Blumhorst went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 20, 2025.
Born in Chicago, IL, she was a daughter of the late Alfred & Martha Parpart Borchardt.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Blumhorst is survived by her daughters, Jane Neff (Greg), and Joy Sims (John); six grandchildren, Addison Sims (Cecelia), Hudson Sims, Harrison Sims (Marwa), Anderson Sims, Kathryn Stephens (Jeff), and Jackson Reinhardt; and three great-grandchildren, Penelope, Josephine, and Ellowyn Sims.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Borchardt; and two sisters, Norma Hames and Carol Arnold.
Lois was a devoted follower of Christ, loved her family dearly and could cook and bake like no one else! She retired as a cake decorator at Albertson’s Grocery after many years and continued to bake and create her famous gingerbread houses and infamous wine cake for family and friends. She was known for getting into the most hilarious predicaments which have become legendary.
The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Blumhorst will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Standing Springs Baptist Church, 1111 W. Georgia Rd, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
