Joy Burgess

Joy Marie Burgess, 63, of Salem, partner of Keith Edward Alger, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022.  Born in Binghamton, NY, she was a daughter of the late Byron B. Burgess and Mary Mason Gregg. Joy was a kidney transplant recipient and became an advocate for organ donation.

Joy is survived by two sons, Keith William Alger and his wife Ashley of Mebane, NC and John David Alger and his wife Allison Alger of Greenville; five grandchildren, Katlynn Perkins, Hunter Alger, Morgan Alger, Mason Alger, Kiley Alger, and Cooper Bostick; one great-grandson, Maverick Perkins; two sisters, Beverly Hulbert and her late husband, Richard, of Windsor, NY and Jill Avery and her husband, Jerry, of Benton, PA.

Joy was preceded in death by her brother, Clark Burgess of Benton, PA.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Heritage Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 pm. A Memorial Service will follow in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home at 3:00 pm.
