Joe Hill Jones
Joe Hill Jones, 85, of Fountain Inn, husband of Janet Bouchillon Jones for 64 years, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 while at home after a valiant fight against cancer.
Born October 12, 1932, in Greenville, he was the son of Grover and Mary Hill Jones. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served his country on a US Navy minesweeper. He was a member of Brandon Baptist Church since 1948. Joe worked many years for J.E. Sirrine Engineering as an Electrical Engineer in Greenville, and Houston, TX. Joe was such a gentle soul with the sweetest smile. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Brown. Joe will be remembered by his nieces, Rebecca Albright (John), Stephanie Killian (Tim), Sheila Smith (Jeff); his nephew, Richard Bouchillon (Venus); a sister-in-law, Ginger Bouchillon; other great and great-great nieces and nephews; a host of other family members and friends; and his cats, Lisa, Mike and Twix.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Kindred Hospice for their care and concern for Joe. A special thanks to Samantha (Sam) and Nurse Lisa who took such good care of Joe.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the Cannon Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends starting at 2:00 PM.
Entombment will be private in the Cannon Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family requests that memorials be made to: Concerned Citizens for Animals, PO Box 1332, Simpsonville, SC 29681 or a charity of one’s choice.
Janet, I am so saddened by the passing of Joe!! He was indeed a gentle soul!! I pray God’s blessings on you during this sad time!!
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time. My wife’s family the Durham’s of Brandon Mill Village, fondly remember Joe from his days at Brandon Baptist Church and Brandon Mill. Ole mill friends are hard to forget we all went through hard times but knowing all the while that God had our backs. Rest in Peace Joe and on behalf of a Grateful Nation and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Thank You For Your Military Service.
