Jerry Edward Powell
Jerry E. Powell, 79, of Simpsonville, husband of Linda Cunningham Powell for 57 years, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 while at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late James Rufus & Sara Elizabeth Calvert Powell. Mr. Powell was a long-time member of Fountain Inn First Baptist Church. He served our country overseas in Korea as a Military Policeman in the United States Army.
In addition to his wife, Linda, Mr. Powell is survived by their sons, Jason Powell (Leigh) of Hendersonville, and Jody Powell (Dalinda) of Greer; grandchildren, Callie Ploeger (Hayden), Jake Powell (Matthew), Natalie Powell, and Drew Powell; one great-granddaughter, Ruby Ploeger; and six brothers, Jimmy, Danny (Frankie), Steve (Joy), Randy, Kenny (Stephanie), and Barry Powell (Debbie).
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Billy Powell.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 3:00 pm in the Fountain Inn First Baptist Church Sanctuary with Dr. Condy Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 2:00 pm at the church and following the service.
Interment will be held in MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson on Monday, May 12 at 2:00 PM.

I worked with Jerry at Kemet. Such good, Christian, easy to work for and with. My prayers have been and still are with his dear family.
I will never forget Jerry and Linda and what wonderful friends they had been to my parents.

Jerry and Linda was always a neighbor you definitely hate to see move. Jerry kept an ambulated yard and was told, this place should be located on Greenpond Rd to show it off. Linda we miss you and our Prayers to you as weโ ll See Jerry again. My family to yours with Love
I worked for Jerry at KEMET. He taught me a lot and provided me opportunities.
I will miss him.
I worked with Jerry at Kemet and considered him a true and dear friend. Jerry was always such an amazing person to everyone and we’ve lost such a special precious man.

Peace be unto those that Jerry left behind. Jerry was in and out of my entire career at Kemet. He is, and shall forever be, remembered.
