Gregorio (Gregory) Frank Bitondo

Gregorio (Gregory) Frank Bitondo, 91, husband of Betty Migliore Bitondo, originally from New York, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024. Born in New York, he was a son of the late Vincenzo and Adelina Crupi Bitondo.

Born in New York, New York to Italian immigrants, Greg started as a tool and die maker, graduating from the Machine and Metal Trade School in New York City. He started his successful printing business St. Lawrence Offset Company, in the Bronx, NY, moving to Ardsley NY and eventually retiring to Naples, FL after a long career. He was a proud Army veteran who served his country during the Korean War. Greg’s favorite hobbies included golfing, fishing, and woodworking – he always enjoyed having a project on his workbench and made beautiful and intricate pieces including a full-size sea-worthy boat, a bar, a regulator clock, an inlay desk, and lamps for his granddaughters. At age 70, Greg received a United States Patent for designing a unique golf putter head. He will be well remembered for his can-do attitude, his incredible understanding of mechanics, his curiosity of how things worked, his sense of humor, and his love for his family.

In addition to his wife Betty of 65 years, Greg is survived by his son, Tom Bitondo and his wife, Linda, of Yorktown Hights, NY; his daughter, Patti Liberatori and her husband, Joe, of Simpsonville (formally Briarcliff Manor, NY); two grandchildren, Cristina Liberatori Cummings, and her husband, Cameron, and Rebecca Bitondo; two siblings, Ada Schaub and Attilio Bitondo; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by his brothers, Pete Bitondo and Freddy Bitondo.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park in Fountain Inn in the Mausoleum Chapel beginning at 1:00 pm.
