Gerald Dale Rodgers
Gerald D. Rodgers, 81, of Duncan, widower of Lorene Morello Rodgers, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023. Born in Pauls Valley, OK, he was a son of the late Percy and Ruth Biggs Rodgers.
Jerry left high school to serve in the U.S. Navy. He served for three and a half years on the USS Yorktown (CVS-10). Following his tour in the Navy, Jerry met Lorene in Sunnyvale, CA in 1961. They lived in Saratoga, CA before moving to Lake Tahoe where they lived for 37 years. While in Lake Tahoe, Jerry served as Director of Manufacturing for Richdel/Garden America for most of his career. He also served on the board of the Nevada Manufacturing Association. Lorene and Jerry moved to Duncan in 2011 to be closer to their grandchildren and enjoy life on the lake. They shared life’s journey together for nearly 60 years.
Jerry is survived by a son, Randy Rodgers and daughter-in-law Kristie of Simpsonville; four grandchildren, Kayla Rodgers, Josh Rodgers, Kelsey Rodgers, and Katie Rodgers; his brother’s wife, Ernestine Rodgers; brothers-in-law Frank Morello (Sara) and Phillip Morello (Kym); sister-in-law, Lynn Nakamura (Harvey); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother Robert “Bob” Rodgers. A private service will be held at a later date.
