George Fredric Goolsby
George Fredric Goolsby, 84, of Gray Court, husband of Eloise Goolsby, passed away on February 6, 2023. Born in Franklin, Georgia, he was a son of the late B.W. and Minnie Duvall Goolsby.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Goolsby is survived by one son, Jeffery Goolsby (Tracy); two daughters, Janet Owen (Marvin) and Judy McKinney (Michael); eight grandchildren, Chadwick Owen (Lauren), Angela Owen, Carolyn Altman (Jeremy), Alan Goolsby (Amy), Laura Fidler (Brian), Melissa Starrett (Andrew), Christopher Faulkner (Devin), and Alex Ahumada (Taylor); 21 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Carl Jack Goolsby (Betty).
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Elaine Goolsby; four sisters, Grace Heron, Jean Dell, Gladys Caldwell, and Helen Jameson; and two brothers, Harold Goolsby and Sidney Goolsby.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be private for the family at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or McCall Hospice House, 1838 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
