Ethel May Stampone
Ethel M. Stampone, 93, of Greenville, widow of Robert Brenner and her second husband, John Stampone, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 26, 2016 while surrounded by her family.
Born May 10, 1923 in Waldwick, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late George Block and the late Elizabeth Mattison Block. Mrs. Stampone was of the Methodist faith. She served our country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and as a secretary to the Commandant of the United States Marine Corps.
She is survived by her son, Donald Brenner, and his wife, Barbara, of Simpsonville; three grandchildren, Matthew Mahoney, and his wife, Stacy, of North Carolina, Donald Brenner, Jr. of Maryland, and Dawn Dean and her husband, Matthew, of Illinois; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Block, and his wife, Louise, of New Jersey.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Stampone will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington County, Virginia, alongside Donald’s father, Mr. Robert Brenner.
