Elizabeth Hope Greer
Elizabeth Hope Greer, 13, a child of God who looked forward to being with Jesus, passed away on June 28, 2021. Born November 21, 2007 in Greensboro, NC, Elizabeth was the daughter of Natasha Greer of Simpsonville and Travis Greer of Spartanburg.
Throughout her short life, Elizabeth generously gave to others her greatest gift—joy, which she spread using her sense of humor, sassy attitude and loving nature. Not only did she touch the lives of everyone around her but also that of strangers, whom she usually greeted with the question, “What you have?” That is, what did you have for breakfast? Or lunch? Or dinner? While Elizabeth loved talking about food, she almost equally enjoyed cookbooks featuring big, colorful photographs of food. Going out for “Nexican” was Elizabeth’s idea of the perfect dinner.
As a 7th grader at Beck Academy, Elizabeth arrived with a smile on her face and looked forward to being with her teachers and classmates each day.
Elizabeth made her mark in many areas. She served as flower girl for a long-time sitter, reigned as homecoming queen at Cedar Springs Academy at the SC School for the Deaf and Blind and met dignitaries at the SC State House. She also was selected 2018 Terrific Kid of the Year at Cedar Springs.
Anyone who heard Elizabeth’s rendition of “Jesus Loves Me” knew where her treasure lay. And by knowing her, everyone saw that her life continuously reflected her love for Jesus.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth is survived by her brother, Andrew Greer of Spartanburg; sister, Anna Greer of Simpsonville; paternal grandparents, Tom and Kaye Greer of Chattanooga, TN; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Sharon Steiner of Chattanooga, TN.; uncle, Eric (Traci) Greer of Kingston, MA; aunt, Angela Davidson of Memphis, TN; and cousins, Melanie Greer, Rachel Greer and Sam Davidson.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021, beginning at 12:45 pm at Fellowship Greenville, located at 3161 SC Hwy-14, Greenville, SC. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2 pm.
