Edna Long Harris

Mrs. Edna Long Harris, 87, of Fountain Inn, passed from this life Monday, December 14, 2009, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. She was born March 22, 1922, in Fountain Inn a daughter of the late Martin Elmore and Lily Glenn Long, and was the widow of John D. Harris. She was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Fountain Inn, served on the Fountain Inn City Council for two terms and was a member of the Fountain Inn Garden Club. She also delivered Meals on Wheels for 15 years.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her brothers Odus, Otto, Oree, Obed and Orr Long and a sister Jennie Long Cox.

Mrs. Harris was the dear mother of Sheila H. Miller and had a beloved son-in-law Robert Miller. She is also survived by two grandsons Arby Miller and wife Christy, Jay Miller and wife Kristy; great grandchildren Jared Miller and Cali Grace Miller.

Entombment services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Old Mausoleum Chapel in Cannon Memorial Park. Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. David Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends following services at the church.
