Don Ralph Marino
Don Ralph Marino, 88, of Simpsonville, SC, formerly of Stratford, CT, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Born in Washington, PA, he was the son of the late Alexander D. and Alma Corrin Marino.
Don was predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years, Thelma Jane Brown Marino, his beloved son, Jaimie Joe Marino and his beloved grandson, Kristopher Marino.
Don is survived by four daughters, Dena Carmona (Roger) of Stratford, CT, Terri Marino of Simpsonville, SC, Jonni Gayle Messenger (Kenneth) of Middlebury, CT, and Alisa Marino (Carl Kenyon) of North Branford, CT; two sons, Gary Marino of Shelton, CT and Michael Marino of Stratford, CT; fifteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters, Antoinette and Beverly, several nieces and nephews, and his constant companion, his cat Bear.
The family would also like to thank Dimple Garrett, Amy Redding and Peggy Lewis for the support, friendship, and love they always showed us and our dad.
Don served honorably in the US Navy during the Korean War and was an avid Mets fan and Johnny Cash fan.
His daughters will be forever grateful that even through the grief and sorrow, they were able to be there to help him through his journey home.
How lucky we were to have a dad that made saying goodbye so hard.
A private Memorial Service and interment will be held in Connecticut at a later date.
