Catherine Gabel Nasgowitz

Catherine G. Nasgowitz, “Kitty”, 88, of Fountain Inn, widow of Herbert George Nasgowitz died on Friday, January 10, 2025.

Born in Utica, NY, she was a daughter of the late Albert & Carma Gabel.

Kitty was an accomplished mother and musician, symphonically trained in French horn at the Eastman School of Music.  She worked for years as a music teacher; she evaluated student teachers for Niagara University for several years; and she worked for over 20 years as a tax professional until she was 80 years old.  She loved playing golf, bowling and bridge with her friends. 

Mrs. Nasgowitz is survived by her children, Kris Nasgowitz (Michelle), Lisa Bachtel, and Pamela Smith (Paul); five grandchildren, Tanner Bachtel, Griffin Bachtel, Violette Bachtel, Thomas Smith, and Roger Smith.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Donald Nasgowitz; and a sister, Carma Martell Lenz.

Private services will be held in NY.
