Alfred Barbery

Alfred Barbery, age 95, widower of Lorene Roach Barbery, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013.

Born in Simpsonville, he was a son of the late James Henry and Bessie McElreath Barbery. Mr. Barbery was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in World War II with the 2nd Armored Division. He retired from Borden Ice Cream Company and was a member of Overbrook Baptist Church.

Mr. Barbery is survived by a son, Steve Barbery and wife Ruth Ann; four grandchildren, Lori Keener and husband Rick, Brian Barbery and wife Elizabeth, Jamie Barbery and wife Ella, and Lisa Peach and husband Peter; eleven great grandchildren, Will, Zach, and Drew Keener, Stevens, George, and Molly Barbery, McKenzie, Charlotte, and Sally Barbery, Jackson and Claire Peach; a brother, Lawrence Barbery; and a sister, Gaynelle Khon. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charlie and Jay Barbery; and a sister, Geraldine Cannon.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Cannon Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Dale Sutton with burial in Cannon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Cannon Funeral Home prior to the service.
