Our “Heritage” actually started when the original James A. Cannon founded Cannon Funeral Home in Fountain Inn, S.C. in 1879. Arthur Dickson Cannon was the second generation and founder of Cannon Memorial Park. James Cannon the third generation. Cannon Funeral Home and Memorial park were sold in 1991, both later fell under the ownership of Stewart Enterprises, a public corporation out of New Orleans, and changed hands several times thereafter.
In October of 2012, after years of planning, Andy Byrd and the late James Cannon partnered to open Heritage Funeral Home in Simpsonville under private ownership.
In October of 2016, we reacquired Cannon Funeral Home and Cannon Memorial Park in Fountain Inn returning that operation to local, private ownership and control. The acquisition joined the staff and resources of Heritage Funeral Home in Simpsonville and Cannon Funeral Home in Fountain Inn along with Cannon Memorial Park, a perpetual care cemetery, as full-service burial and cremation service providers to the surrounding communities.
