Amelia Poole married Stephen L. Wilkerson on July 11th, 1987. They had three children together: Margaret Madelyn Wilkerson Borgelt, Stephen Parson Wilkerson, and Caroline Amelia Wilkerson Correa.
Amy’s love and greatest joy was her family. She was a doting wife and mother. Her greatest passion and hobby was gardening. As a master gardener, her extensive knowledge was shared to anyone who would listen. As adults her children spent many hours in the yard with her learning how to make their own just as beautiful.
Amy also had a love for literature and published her very own children’s chapter book: Maggie and Parker It’s Halloween: a spin about her very own children.
Amy was predeceased by her son, Stephen Parson Wilkerson. She is survived by parents Mack P. Poole (Lin Poole) and Claudia Cato Poole, Aunt Ann Poole, and Sister Fran Poole.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Stephen L. Wilkerson, her daughters and son-in-laws Margaret Wilkerson Borgelt and Matthew Borgelt, as well as, Caroline Wilkerson Correa and Andres Correa.
Amy adored and loved her seven grandchildren who called her “Mamie”. Bryson Borgelt, Addison Borgelt, Mason Borgelt, McKinley Borgelt, Sophia Correa, Berkley Borgelt, and Luca Correa.
A small celebration of Amy’s life will be held at Hope Church Simpsonville, 806 SE Main Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681, Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 3:00 PM.
