Ralph Edward Sutton
Ralph Edward Sutton, 77, of Laurens, SC passed away January 5, 2024 at home after a short illness. He was born in Marlinton, WV and is the son of the late Raymond and Mildred (Woods) Sutton.
Ralph retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sargent after 27 years of service and a tour during Operation Desert Storm. He was a member of the Beni Kedem Shrine (Charleston, WV), Scottish Rite (Charleston, WV), Masonic Lodge #49 (Gray Court, SC), and Grace Community Chapel in Hickory Tavern (SC). He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and most of all, fishing.
He is survived by his wife Linda (Rock) Sutton, whom he married on May 17, 1967 in Charleston, WV. Together they had two children: Mark (Valerie) of Gray Court, SC and Tina (Todd) Shuping of Salisbury, NC. Ralph is also survived by three grandchildren: Jessica (Tristan) Gilford, Stacie (Joshua) Jones, and Kierney (Josh) Cox; six great-grandchildren: Lauryn Washington, Cameron Gilford, Trinity Gilford, Arizona Gilford, Isaiah Cox, and Silas Cox; sister-in-law Deborah Sutton and nephew Chris Sutton (Loretta).
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth “Kenny” Sutton of St. Albans, WV.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Grace Community Chapel in Hickory Tavern, SC.

Linda, Mark, and Tina,
Ralph had the greatest tone in his voice. He sent his smile through the phone line. We just talked at Christmas and as always, he said we were getting older. He, Kenny and I were more than cousins, childhood friends because we lived so close and did so many things together with our two families.
