We’ll miss and Love you Mom Tate. Say Hi to Bill and well meet again.
It was my honor to be Barbara’s caregiver. We shared so many stories. We could talk for hours. We laughed and cried over stories shared together.
Barbara loved going to the grocery store, Hamricks and finding new adventures. She was loved by so many people especially her children.
I will miss her but glad she’s home.
Ms Barbara was a mentor and a great influence and friend to me through the years . I will never forget the songs she taught and I still sing them today . One thing I remember distinctly is a story of how she would iron her children’s clothes and as she ironed then she would pray for her children that wore them . Steve , Beverly & Scott .. your mother was a mother to many of us and her memory will last forever in our hearts ! If there is one thing I’m 100 percent sure if is she is in heaven right now rejoicing and that is my comfort and I’m sure it is yours as well ! Love you all ! Angie
There are many songs that I would sing to my children, grandchildren and nephews that came from Barbara at children’s camp. I was 10 years old at that first camp. We all loved her. And she loved all of us. What a beautiful spirit. And what a heavenly celebration! ❤️

Barbara was a Christian, also a devoted wife and mother, as well as meaning so much to so many.
Barbara and I were kindred Spirits in Christ’s love. Her love for our Lord and Savior were unwavering. She like her mother
before her always relied upon her wonderful faith, in GOD. Barbara was my mentor, confidante, teacher as well as being my precious aunt. She was a devoted servant of GOD. I know that she wasn’t perfect, none of
us are.. However, I am sure that her desire was to please our LORD. I am so thankful for the time GOD allowed me to share with her. I will see her again in HEAVEN, some day. If you have accepted CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR, you can too. I AM BLESSED-PTL
What a precious Mama she was too so many … know how much you all are loved 💕💕💕we love you Beverly
Barbara was a good friend to so many of us. Her sense of humor was infectious. We had so many good times in the Nazarene Church and raising our menagerie of kids. She was not above being mischievous.
To all of Barbara’s family I send my sincere condolences, love and prayers. I can say without a doubt she was ‘my bestie’ and I will always cherish every memory I have of our times together. She loved all of you so much and you all were her pride and joy. We will all miss her terribly but also rejoice with her as she is now with her Lord and Saviour.
There are no words to adequately express our love for Barbara Tate. She was an incredible woman who helped in shaping my own journey as a speaker and teacher of Gods Word and inspired me to teach scripture through song. 🤍
Long before I met her, I’d heard wonderful things about her life and ministry through Max and Betty Murphy and their children, Donna and Joey (my husband). Our family loves Barbara’s entire family— her children and their spouses—down to the grandchildren.
Please know our prayers are with you all as you process such a huge loss. We celebrate with each of you that we will see her again and rejoice knowing she is with her two main loves—Jesus and Bill.
We will continue to support you all during the grief process and pray you will allow yourselves room to do so. Thankfully, we can grieve hopefully because one amazing woman decided to follow Christ.
We love you all so much!
Forever Influenced for the better, LaTan and Joey Murphy

Oh the memories I have etched in my mind of Mama Tate. And she was like a mom to me and my siblings. At children’s camp, at our home Church in Charlotte and even my Sunday School teacher. Whenever I would talk to her about anything or had questions, she always told me to trust the Lord for my answer and HE would give me the desires of my heart. Heaven truly gained an Angel. I know I will see her again! Oh what a beautiful soul!!
I just learned yesterday that dear sweet Barbara had passed away. She has been a dear friend for over 40 years. We met at Camp Taconic in New York. What a blessing she was, ministering to the children. Oh, they loved her.
She also was a wonderful women’s speaker. I had her speak many times at my Women’s Retreats that were also held at Camp Taconic.
Twenty years ago, my husband and I moved to Florida. I felt the Lord calling me to start a women’s ministry in the community where we live. Barbara also came with her niece Jeannie to several of our retreats and Barbara spoke several times. What a blessing to have her speak!
Barbara and I talked on the phone several times a month and we were reminiscing about the past and would laugh and cry and enjoy each other’s company even on the phone.
She was such a blessing to me and encouraged me in my ministries and in my life in so many ways.
I truly will miss her, but she is where she should be. In HEAVEN with Jesus and Bill.
God bless and comfort all of her dear family. Blanche Gressett
