Stephen “Parson” Wilkerson
Stephen “Parson” Wilkerson, 31, of Fountain Inn, SC, went to join his Lord and Savior Saturday, July 22, 2023. He passed suddenly of cardiac arrest due to a congenital heart defect. He was born June 9, 1992 in Greenville, SC to Stephen L. Wilkerson and Amy Poole Wilkerson. He enjoyed an idyllic childhood with his sisters, Margaret Wilkerson Borgelt and Caroline Wilkerson Correa.
Parson attended Mauldin High School and graduated from Wade Hampton High School and Greenville Technical College. Parson was known to be an avid reader of history and was always thirsty for knowledge. He was deeply adored by his nieces and nephews.
Parson was employed by the Department of Defense. He enjoyed his work and was excited by his future career. Parson was actively persuing a candidacy in the 2026 elections for The South Carolina State House of Representatives. Parson possessed tremendous love and respect for God and Country and lived to serve both.
Stephen Parson Wilkerson is survived by his maternal grandparents, Mack Parson Poole, Claudia Poole and step-grandmother, Lin Poole and very special aunts, Anne Poole and Fran Poole.
He was preceded in death by a paternal grandfather, Gerald Wilkerson, but is survived by his paternal grandmother, Sally Waters Wilkerson.
He leaves behind his two adoring sisters and two brothers-in-law, Margaret Wilkerson Borgelt and Matthew Borgelt plus baby sister Caroline Wilkerson Correa and Andres Correa.
Parson had seven nieces and nephews who dearly adored him. Bryson Borgelt, Addison Borgelt, Mason Borgelt, McKinley Borgelt, Sophia Correa, Berkley Borgelt and Baby Luca Correa.
Parson’s favorite quote was, “Family’s all you’ve got, spend time with them!”
A celebration of Parson’s short life with us will be held in the Whispering Waters Garden in Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 3:00 PM.
I loved coming to see you and your sisters when you were little. I’m so sorry for my cousin, Steve, Amy and the entire family. You can never be replaced. God has you now. RIP Parson.

I remember seeing Parson every year at our family Christmas parties when he was little. He was the cutest little boy with dark hair and dark skin!! Sweet memories!! I’m so sorry Steve, and Family for your loss!! Thoughts and prayers for you all!!
Parson was part of many good memories growing up throughout high-school and beyond. He was a great friend and the memories I made with him I’ll forever cherish. I’ll never forget those memories we made together. You were one of a kind. Love you brother. Your the man Pwilk. ‘Till we meet again.

Parson swam with my girls on Heritage Lakes swim team. Lots of fond memories were made at the pool and all the other pools we swam at. Parson you are gone but not forgotten. This isn’t goodbye, this is till we meet again!
