Matthew Robert Jobe
Matthew Robert Jobe, 24, of Greenville went home to his Savior on Thursday, May 25, 2023. Born in Raleigh, NC, he was the son of Bruce A. and Terri L. Jobe of Simpsonville.
In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by three sisters, Laura Elizabeth (Andrew) Blasko of Greenville; Aimee Caroline Jobe of Charlotte, NC; Sarah Catherine Jobe of Simpsonville; and his niece, Lillian Gray Blasko.
Matthew graduated High School from Jobe’s Christian Academy Homeschool. He then enlisted in the U.S, Army where he trained as a Fire Control Support Specialist at Fort Sill in OK (finishing as Honor Grad). He then achieved the high honor of earning his Airborne jump wings at Fort Benning in GA. Matthew then spent the remainder of his service at Fort Bragg in NC with the 82nd Airborne Division. He received a medical retirement and Honorable Discharge in January 2020.
After the Army, Matthew attended several schools eventually earning his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from American Military University. Matthew then changed career paths – earning his National Registry Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician in January 2022. He followed that with additional training to certify with the National Registry as a Paramedic in February 2023. He was working with Greenville County Emergency Medical Services until shortly before his passing.
Matthew loved the United States Military and its tradition and disciplines. He thoroughly enjoyed weightlifting, all things Star Wars, and every Marvel movie ever made.
A Graveside Service was held at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veteran Cemetery in Anderson, SC, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
