Wanda Sue Adkison Haltiwanger
Wanda Sue Adkison Haltiwanger, 75, wife of James Roddy Haltiwanger for 53 years, of Simpsonville, joined her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 26, 2023. Born in Augusta, GA, Wanda was a daughter of the late Roy Edward and Mattie Mangham Adkison.
Wanda graduated from the Barrett School of Nursing and worked as a nurse for a few years before beginning a career in banking. Wanda was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Simpsonville. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed spending most of her time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Wanda is survived by three children, Haley Jeffcoat (Jeff), Lori Kellett (David), and Russell Haltiwanger (Stephanie) all of Fountain Inn; six grandchildren, Brady Jeffcoat, Shealy Jeffcoat, Claire Kellett, Oneal Kellett, Maddox Haltiwanger, and Ridge Haltiwanger; two sisters Rita Hadden (Wayne) of Aiken and Evie Duncan (Ronnie) of North Augusta; a cousin she thought of as a sister, Darlene Claxton (Alan) of Beech Island, SC; two sisters-in-law, Polly Coleman (Ron) of Easley and Sherry Haltiwanger of Beech Island; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Mike Haltiwanger.
The family will be at the home of Lori and David Kellett in Fountain Inn.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023, at First Baptist Simpsonville beginning at 1:00 pm. The Funeral Service will follow in the Worship Center beginning at 2:00 pm. A private burial will follow the service at Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: First Baptist Church Simpsonville, 3 Hedge St., Simpsonville, SC 29681.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have work with Wanda for over ten years at the Palmetto Bank she taught me a lot she will be greatly missed. Love Carolyn
