Lola Berry Cole
Lola Berry Cole, 78, of Simpsonville, widow of William Cole, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015.
She was a daughter of the late Jesse Berry and the late Estelle Hendrix Berry.
She was a member of Temple Baptist Church where she taught Children’s Sunday School 23 years and sang in the adult choir. She was a member of Circle of Hope, WMU and served on a number of church committees. Lola was employed by Ralph Hendrix for over 45 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane Steele of Simpsonville, and Kay Weathers and her husband, John, of Green pond; three grandchildren, Lauren Steele of Simpsonville, Matthew Steele and his wife, Jennifer, of Simpsonville, and Jesse Weathers of Green Pond; one great-grandson, Carter Steele of Simpsonville; three sisters, Willie Mae Berry of Simpsonville, Ruth Young and her husband, Wallace, of Simpsonville, and Helen Henderson also of Simpsonville.
Miss Lola as she was known by all the children she taught at Temple Baptist Church will be greatly missed.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Heritage Funeral Home from 6:00 – 7:30 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Brett Aiken officiating.
Entombment will follow the service at Cannon Memorial Park.
The family requests that memorials may be made to: Temple Baptist Church, Building Fund or to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering.
