Debbie Weathers Sims
Debbie Sims, 61, of Simpsonville, wife of Gordon Bailey Sims, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
Born in Fountain Inn, she was a daughter of the late Jimmy & Thelma Davis Weathers. She was a long-time member of Fountain Inn First Baptist Church.
“Mom had a passion and love for working with children and served in the children’s ministry at Fountain Inn First Baptist. She especially loved her grandkids and cherished every moment that she got to spend with them. They brought her so much joy. She also had a love for flowers and spent many hours working out in her yard in the spring. She loved spending Saturday afternoons at Furman football games cheering on her Paladins. She had a contagious smile and infectious laughter which illuminated the room. She was gentle, kind and had a servant’s heart. She lived a selfless life and will be missed immensely.”
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Sims is survived by her children, Brittany Sims of Simpsonville, and Andrew Sims of Fountain Inn; four grandchildren, Nathan, Ethan, Avery, and Kane Ferron; and three siblings, Robin Godfrey, Pam Wilks, and Danny Weathers.
She was preceded in death by one son, Gordon Bailey Sims Jr.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 12:30 pm at Fountain Inn First Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Condy Richardson.
The family will receive friends at the church starting at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: Ft Inn First Baptist Church, 206 N. Weston St, Fountain Inn, SC 29644 or to Southside Christian School Student Scholarship Fund, 2211 Woodruff Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29681.
