Sylvia Snow King
Sylvia S. King, 85, of Simpsonville, widow of Joyce Edwin King, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 while at home with her family by her side.
Born in Simpsonville, she was a daughter of the late Conway Snow and the late Hassie Fowler Snow.
Mrs. King was a life-long member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Greer. She and her husband owned and operated King Cleaners in Simpsonville and Mauldin for many years. After his death in 1959 and after raising her children she worked and retired from Her Majesty.
Mrs. King is survived by her sons, Roger King and his wife, Dianne, and David King and his wife, Jane, and Lynn King and his wife, Elizabeth, all of Simpsonville; daughters, Miriam “Mickey” Davis of Simpsonville, and Mary Ellen Henley of Fountain Inn; grandchildren, Haven King of Asheville, Allison King, and Kevin King and his wife, Jessica, all of Simpsonville; great-grandchildren, Hannah King, Maddie Sabean and Palmer King; one brother, Guy Morris Snow also of Simpsonville; and one sister-in-law, Betty Hughes, also of Simpsonville.
Mrs. King was preceded in death by one son, Marion “Bud” King and one grandson, Lance King.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 12:00 PM in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 11:00 AM.
Burial will follow the service in Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery, 705 Anderson Ridge Road, Greer, S.C.
