Billie Jean Cross
Billie Jean Cross, 58, widow of Larry Cross, of Fountain Inn, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Born in Asheville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Billy Jones McCoy and Barbara Jean Henderson McCoy. Billie Jean served our country in the Army during Operation Just Cause in Panama.
In addition to her mother, Billie Jean is survived by her close cousins, Kathy Warren of Simpsonville, Peggy Chambers of Nashville, AR, Mary Jo Erdwein of Simpsonville, and Charles Taylor of Candler, NC; her longtime friends, Jewell Corley and Yvonne Stephenson; and her beloved cat, Ashley.
No services are planned at this time.

So sorry to hear about your loss, my deepest condolences.
I first met BJ in 1997 when Larry brought her to Ontario. They came first to Ottawa where the morning after they arrived the two of them were outside at daybreak making snow angels. I think BJ’s first snow experience. We then went to the Cross farm near Gananoque, where BJ was in short order, adored by Larry’s grandparents. I had the pleasure of seeing them married in the Halifax harbour and seeing them again at the farm a few years later when they talked myself and Larry’s brother Jerry into a round of physically challenging combat at the local outdoor paintball establishment. I drive past that paintball course when I go to and from my church and seldom do I pass without thinking of them both and their zest for life and adventure. This is such a sad closing chapter in BJ’s story. Prayerfully, she and Larry are together again, BJ singing with a choir of angels and Larry beaming at the sight and sound of his soul mate..
