Charles Samuel Jones
Charles Samuel Jones, 70, of Greenville, husband of Rebecca “Becky” Bagwell Jones, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 2, 2021 while at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Clyde and Ether Gosnell Jones. Charles was raised at Hilltop Avenue Baptist Church and was a long-time member of Salem United Methodist Church. He was employed for 31 years at Mitsubishi Polyester Films.
In addition to his wife, Becky, he is survived by their two daughters Amy Cornish and Charlee Jones, one granddaughter his “Pride & Joy” Haley Menegay, bonus daughters Linda (Alejandro) and Nicole, bonus grandchildren Isaiah and Alicia; his brothers, Gerald Jones (Betty), Dennis Jones (Joan), and Daniel Jones (Evelyn); his four sisters, Dru Ortiz (Jose), Margie Flores (Armando), Phyllis Bryant (Johnny), and Kathy Weaver (Lloyd); his Mother-in-Law, Vera Bagwell; his in-laws, Judi Jones, Jeff Bagwell (Pam), and Lorie Bryant (Chris); and numerous nephews and nieces that he loved as his own. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Mark, Gary, and Tony Jones.
Charles and Becky had a special love of children and were foster parents to 13 children over the years. Charles loved traveling with his family to cheer on his South Carolina Gamecocks in football, baseball, and basketball. He was an avid golfer spending most of his days on the courses with his brothers who were also his best friends. He also loved to be out fishing on local lakes or hunting at the family lodge. Spending time watching all his nephews playing league or high school sports brought him so much joy. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family, in-laws, and friends that he loved more than life.

The Receiving of Friends will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Simpsonville.
The Funeral service will be on Saturday July 10, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Salem United Methodist Church, 2700 White Horse Rd, Greenville, SC.
Burial will follow in the Hicks Family Cemetery on Hicks Rd across from Charles and Becky’s home.
