Elizabeth Kellett Goewey
Betty Goewey, 100, of Fountain Inn, widow of Rev. Harry M. Goewey, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.
Born in Fountain Inn, she was a daughter of the late William West & Mattie Wimberly Kellett Sr.
Mrs. Goewey is survived by one son, West Goewey, and his wife, Theresa, of Fountain Inn; three grandsons, James (Lindsey) Goewey of Hickory, N.C., Spencer (Candice) Goewey of Greer, and Tyler Goewey of Fountain Inn; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Wim Goewey; two brothers, William West Kellett Jr. and Edward Wimberly Kellett; and one sister, Rebekah Kellett Jones.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity UMC with Rev. Murray Snow officiating. Interment will follow in Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity UMC.
The family requests that memorials be made in lieu of flowers to: Trinity UMC, 403 S. Weston Street, Fountain Inn, SC 29644.
Sorry to learn about Ms. Betty’s passing. I got to know her while visiting my Mom at The Springs. She was always full of life and joy. I celebrate with you that she’s now seeing Jesus face to face.

I will always hold special memories of Betty and Mom and Jan and me squatting at the Springs with snacks lunches outside strolls and more we called ourselves the “squatters”

Sweetist soul I ever met
I only knew Mrs. Betty for a short time but she impacted my life forever. I will miss her dearly. She was a wonderful woman. My condolences to her family.
