Linda S. Jones

Linda S. Jones, 66, of Greenville, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Linda was the wife of Martin C. Jones and the daughter of the late Edward Spoon and his wife Lena Jo Spoon Shaffer.

Linda was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service. In addition to her military service, she attended Cecil’s Business College, worked for Ashworth Card in customer service. She also worked for Strom Thurmond in Washington DC. She was an avid pet lover and was especially fond of her two dogs, Sammy and Halie, who meant the world to her.

In addition to her mother she is survived by two sons, David Christopher Jones and wife Donna of Greenville and Joe Randal Jones and wife Alison of AL.; three grandsons, Charles Martin Jones of Greenville, Richard Denver Jones of Taylors and Daniel Christopher Jones and wife Tiffany of Greenville; one great-grandson, Henry Watkins Jones of Greenville; and one great-granddaughter Sonny Madison Jones of Greenville.

A visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Temple Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Graceland East Cemetery.
