Dolora Lucille Kibbe

Wife of David “Mike” Kibbe went home to walk with Jesus on Saturday, April 11, 2020. Born in Simpsonville, she was the daughter of the late Coy and Mattie Carlton. Lucy was a longtime employee and retired from Union Carbide/Kemet. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fountain Inn. She loved working in her garden and canning and freezing vegetables and having family get togethers. You never were hungry when you came to her house. She always made sure to have lots of food cooked for everyone. Even the puppies were fed when they would come to visit.

In addition to her husband, Lucy is survived by three children and their spouses.  David and Elaine Kibbe, Teresa and Tony Simpson, Sandy and Layton Holcombe.  Seven grandchildren;  Tristen Brookshire, Jake Kibbe, Lindsay and Jonathan Morgan, Sandra and Ed Matthews, Michael Kibbe and Jennifer Neal. Nathan and Jeni Simpson, Diedre and Jonathan Ross.  Five great grandchildren; Michael Aaron Kibbe II, John and Kendal Page, Joey Page, Josh Moon, Austin Gault. Two great great grandchildren; Damon and Haley Page. And surviving is a sister Ella Mae Hudson of Gray Court
Lucy was preceded in death by a brother; Eddie Carlton, two sisters; Pearl Mauk and Mildred Lott and two great grandchildren; Logan and Laura Kibbe.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the St Francis Cancer Center.

A private Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 13, 2020.

  1. My prayers are with your family during this time. I always looked forward to seeing Lucy and David when they would come to the office to take care of their insurance needs. She was such a special person.
