Wilford James Shelton

Wilford James Shelton, 85, of Simpsonville, widower of Connie Shelton, went to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, February 25, 2014.

Born in Greenville, S.C., he was the son of the late Elbert and Bessie Lyles Shelton. Mr. Shelton was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, was a graduate of Parker High School, attended Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, N.C., served as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, and retired from ReWa Water Resources of Greenville County.

Mr. Shelton is survived by his son, Rick, and his wife, Gloria, of Fountain Inn; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Connie, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Norris; and one brother, Calvin Shelton.

The family will receive friends at Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. Funeral Service will be at the Funeral Home on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Bill Cole and Reverend Robert Travis officiating. Interment will follow in the Graceland East Memorial Park Mausoleum.
