John Martin Rohrssen
John Martin Rohrssen, 64, of Simpsonville, widower of Marie Rohrssen, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020 while at home.
Born in Rockville Centre, NY, he was the son of the late John Christian Rohrssen and the late Elsie Anholzer Rohrssen. John served as a volunteer firefighter in North Merrick, NY and helped with the aftermath of the September 11th attack on the World Trade Center. He loved his wife, Marie, his motorcycle, his truck, and his robe. John enjoyed holding up in his “Man Cave” working on his model tanks and military vehicles.
John is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Pepe and her husband, Anthony, of Simpsonville and Kelly Bradley and her husband, Bruce Jr., of Charleston; and four grandchildren, Anthony and Adrienne Pepe and Abigail and Stella Bradley.
Dear Kelly, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I remember him back in your days of nursery school when he would come to pick you up and come to some of the events we had. He always had a great smile. My prayers go out to you and your family
to the family of john, my deepest condolences to you all! i am so saddened to hear of his passing.. my heart is with you all. i will always have the best memories of him from the fun times at the firehouse to the rides on the motorcycle and yes the time he caught us sneaking back in the house from “hearing raccoons outside” he always had the biggest heart and the biggest smile! he will live on in his grand babies hearts and will always watch over you all! xoxoxo -kat and family

To John’s family and friends, I’m so sorry for your loss, my most sincere condolences to you. I have not seen John or Marie in many years but we were best friends in high school, you will be greatly missed by all who knew you. I know you are at peace because you are with Marie now. John was a good neighbor and friend I will miss our motorcycle rides and going to bible study every night and the movies most Friday nights. I know he is happy being with Marie and Jesus.
