James Horace Gilbert, Jr.

James Horace Gilbert, Jr., 70, of Simpsonville, husband of Nancy K. Gilbert, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014 surrounded by his family.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late James Horace Gilbert, Sr. and Mary Frances Hester Gilbert. Mr. Gilbert was of the Baptist faith and retired from Cryovac.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, James “Jimmy” Horace Gilbert III and his wife, Patricia, of Simpsonville, S.C.; one daughter, Cynde Gilbert Whitmire and her husband, Gary, of Easley, S.C.; three grandchildren, Haleigh Gilbert, Christen Whitmire and Taylor Whitmire; and one sister, Patricia Zier and her husband, Michael, of Woodstock, GA.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Judith Ann Forrester and Linda Joye Gilbert.

Private services will be held for the family.
