George F. Stafford
George F. Stafford, 87, of Simpsonville, husband of Polly Nelson Stafford, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019 while at home with his family.
Born in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of the late Walter & Marie Stafford. Mr. Stafford was a member of Brookwood Church. He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and enjoyed a long career in the insurance industry as an adjuster for State Farm.
In addition to his wife, Polly, Mr. Stafford is survived by his children, Pam (John) Lawson, Peggy (Todd) Michalak, and Allison (David) Mayernik; and eleven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Stafford; one brother and one sister.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Brookwood Church Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
George was an awesome man and uncle. Always willing to help when he could. A great storyteller and always a joke or two! He will be missed by many! No more pain Uncle George! You are now in the arms of our Heavenly Father! I love you still till we meet again!

Polly, I was so sorry to hear of George’s passing. But he certainly lived a full life! I really enjoyed our monthly “smoke” at Claims Meeting as we discussed the problems of the world and the claims “industry.” We will miss him!
