Lillie Beatrice Calvert

Lillie Beatrice Calvert (Mama Lillie) of Simpsonville was reunited in Heaven with her infant daughter Martha Ann and her grandson Robbie on Saturday, November 30, 2013.

Known to all as “Mama Lillie”, she was born July 3, 1915 in Greenville County where she lived most of her life. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and is survived by her four children, Preston & Jackie Calvert, Sylvia Calvert, Edward & Francis Calvert and JoAnn & Andy Anderson. She is also survived by five grandchildren Chuck Calvert, Cherry Hollingsworth and her husband Cliff, Dennis Calvert and his wife Shelia, Melanie Green and her husband Joey, Jonathan Anderson and his wife Melissa; ten great-grandchildren, Dennis Calvert Jr., Preston Baynes, Hayden Calvert, Ruston Calvert, Emma Anderson, Christa Baynes, Lillie Anderson, Tucker Calvert, Clair Calvert and Courtney Calvert and one sister Grace Raines.

Special love and thanks from the children of Mama Lillie to Patsy Weather, a dear friend to our mother who generously gave her love and time.

While a life of ninety-eight years cannot be summarized in these few lines, Mama Lillie was a strong loving woman and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. We as her family are blessed with the love of many who we want to thank for their support during this time.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 11:30 am at Temple Baptist Church in Simpsonville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:30 – 11:15 am at the Church prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Mauldin First Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Benevolence Fund at Temple Baptist Church, 213 West Curtis St., Simpsonville, SC 29681.
