Roberta Bramlett Richardson
Roberta Bramlett Richardson, widow of George Richard “Dick” Richardson, of N.E. Main Street, Simpsonville, died Friday, October 11, 2013 with her family by her side. She was born October 18, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Malvin and Hazel Pollard Bramlett.
Mrs. Richardson was a graduate of Simpsonville High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Winthrop College. She received graduate credits from Furman University and the University of South Carolina Extension.
Mrs. Richardson was a teacher for thirty-eight years. She taught second grade at A.C. Moore in Columbia, first grade at Simpsonville Elementary, and first grade at Trinity Lutheran in Greenville.
She became a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International on April 27, 1954 by Delta Chapter in Greenville. When the Alpha Gamma Chapter was organized in lower Greenville County, she was chosen to be the new president of the chapter.
Mrs. Richardson was a member of First Baptist Church Simpsonville. She was a member and one of the teachers of the Esther Sunday School Class. She was also a member and leader of the Allen Mission Group.
Services will be on Sunday, October 13, 2013 in the Chapel at First Baptist Church Simpsonville. Visitation will start at 3:00 pm. The Funeral Service will follow at 4:00 pm. with Rev. Randy Harling officiating. Burial will be in the Simpsonville City Cemetery.
