Kathe Elfrieda Weidner
Kathe Weidner, widow of Russel Goodhart Weidner, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 14, 2018. Born on April 5, 1925 in Friedrichsdorf, Pomern, Germany her goal in life was to become a Missionary Nurse in Africa. That wish had to be abandoned as Hitler took over Germany and war devastated her life. She instead became a nurse to wounded and dying soldiers. Threatened by Russian soldiers, God and God alone saved her from their grasp. She placed her trust in Him and clung to her favorite Scripture all her life as she faced many more hardships and lost dreams, ‘til the day that the God of our salvation restored what the canker worm had taken! Praise His Holy Name!
Psalm 25:4-5 “Show me the path where I should walk. O Lord, point out the right road for me to follow. Lead me by Your truth and teach me, for You are the God who saves me all day long. I put my hope in You!”
Mrs. Weidner is survived by her son, Ronald J. Ressler and his wife Denise of Charlotte; two daughters, Marion Natale of Simpsonville and Judy Pristash and her husband Jon of Fountain Inn; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Simpsonville on Friday, July 20, 2018 beginning at 11:00 am. The family will visit with friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 3810 Grandview Drive, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
