Mary Ellen Gibson

Mary Ellen Gibson, age 79, widow of Jack V. Gibson, went to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, November 20, 2013.

Born in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Mabel Hunsucker Adkins. She was a youth bowling coach for 45 years and was a member and director of the Greenville Ladies Bowling Hall of Fame and Association. Mrs. Gibson was a member of New Life Community Church of Fountain Inn.

She is survived by a daughter, Connie Brady; a son, Ken Gibson and wife Janice; four grandchildren, Allison Fowler and husband Brandon, Michael Gibson, Chris McColley and wife Faye, and J.T. Brady and wife Jasmine; four great grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley, Carrie, and Elizabeth McColley; two brothers, Jack Adkins and Bobby Adkins; a sister, Margaret Epley; and her beloved pet Snowflake. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 2:30 PM at Cannon Funeral Home-Jones Chapel, Simpsonville conducted by Rev. Brandon Gilreath. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 PM – 2:15 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
