Louise Mahon Burnside
Louise Mahon Burnside, age 81, died Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born October 22, 1930 in Walter Reed Hospital, Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late M/Sgt (ret.) John Charlton and Frances Bertling Mahon. She was raised in Fort Howard, MD and Fort Myer, VA and was a resident of Greenville County since 1944.
Louise was a retired Public Accountant, having worked in public accounting from 1957 until her retirement in 2008.
Surviving are four daughters, Robbie B. Wamsley of Taylors, Wanda L. Burnside and her husband John Ludwigsen of Greer, Shay Burnside of Greenville, and Lynn Blackwell and her husband Bill Blackwell of Lake Wylie, SC; seven grandchildren, Tracy (Mark) Holmesley, Jason (Tonya) Hanna, Robert (Robbin) Stoddard, Craig Stoddard, Casey Burnside, Blaine Blackwell, and Brynn Blackwell; six great grandchildren, Brittany and Dillon Holmesley, Christopher and Lauren Stoddard, and Sara and Logan Hanna; and a sister, Libby Mahon Babineaux of Tyrone, GA. She was predeceased by a grandson, Robert M. Robinson; her brothers, James B. Mahon and John R. Mahon; and a sister, Anna Mahon Combs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Rett Syndrome Foundation, 4600 Devitt Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45246 as a loving tribute to Mrs. Burnside’s great-granddaughter, Sara Hanna.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cannon Funeral Home, Fountain Inn. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 AM in Cannon Memorial Park.
