Dorothy Elizabeth Hazel McCall

Dorothy Elizabeth Hazel McCall of Simpsonville SC, went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2012 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham NC. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sheila McCall Ford. She is survived by her three children, Susan McCall Greene, Karen McCall Schulz, and Kenneth McCall Jr. as well as her eight grandchildren, Michael Barbare, Wesley Alexander, Amanda Nixon, Jonathan Lane, Caleb Ford, Caroline Ford, Madison McCall, Ryan McCall, and eight great grandchildren.

Born in 1928 in Cramerton NC, mom grew up in the Greenville area, working on the family farm and starting a job in a local mill as soon as she could. She loved to square dance and enjoyed growing up on the farm. Mom was married in 1954 in Greenville SC to Kenneth McCall, in service with the United States Air Force at Donaldson AFB. The military took them to live in many places, which she always enjoyed as an adventure. Mom retired from Kemet Electronics in Simpsonville SC in 1993. We all remember that mom’s greatest joy was raising us and she truly loved the Lord and strong in faith. Her life was her family.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11, 2012 from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at Cannon Memorial Park Funerals & Cremations Chapel in Fountain Inn. A Funeral Service celebrating Dorothy’s life will immediately follow visitation at 2:00pm in the chapel. Interment will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park in Simpsonville.
