Robert Edgar Anderson

Mr. Robert Edgar Anderson, 89 of 501 Gulliver Street, Fountain Inn died Saturday (November 21, 2009) at Fountain Inn Nursing Home.

Mr. Anderson was born May 23, 1920 in Jamestown, New York to the late Nels Oscar Anderson and the late Alma Louise Johnson Anderson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marie Smith Anderson, son, Roger Anderson and sister, Evelyn Benson and brother-in-law, Laverne Benson.

Surviving son, Jeffrey Anderson and wife Judy of Maple Park, Illinois, daughter, Susan Anderson, of Simpsonville niece Diane Benson of Jamestown, New York and 4 grandchildren, Laura Anderson, Kimberly Anderson, Christopher Kohlmorgen and Lauren Kohlmorgen.

Mr. Anderson was a valedictorian of his 1938 class of Jamestown High School and a 1941 graduate of the University of Cincinnati. He was a retired electrical engineer with Unisys Corp.

Funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Cannon Funeral Home Chapel, Fountain Inn by Rev. Chuck Calvert and Mr. Jeffrey Anderson. Burial will be in Cannon Memorial Park.
