Ralph Warren Hawks

Ralph Warren Hawks, 88, of Fountain Inn, SC, passed from this life Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC. He was born in Woodlawn, VA, Nov. 13, 1920, a son of the late Elmer and Clara Bolin Hawks. He was a 1939 graduate of Woodlawn VA. High School and had retired from Dow Brands (Texize Chemicals), Mauldin, SC. Mr. Hawks served in the 2nd Division Infantry U.S. Army, European Campaign during WW II and was a member of the VFW, Fountain Inn, SC. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Fountain Inn and had served as a deacon of New Hope Baptist Church, Mauldin, SC.

He is survived by his wife Lola Baugus Hawks of Fountain Inn, SC; sons and daughters-in-law Dale and Charleine Hawks of Fountain Inn, SC, Robert and Jean Hawks of Orangeburg, SC; sisters Ellen and her husband Cullen Lawrence and Rubye Byrd of Galax, VA; sister-in-law Vera Hawks and brother-in-law Clarence Davis both of Woodlawn, VA; 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

3 Brothers and 1 Sister preceded him in death.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Cannon Funeral Home, Fountain Inn, SC with Rev. Anthony McCaleb and Rev. Carlos Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
