Gene Kelley

Thomas Eugene “Gene” Kelley, Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2016.

Born in Waynesboro, TN, he was a son of the late Pete and Modessa Kelley. Gene was employed by Johns Manville Fiber Glass, Hornish Trucking, Freight Way Trucking, and Tom CATV. Some of Gene’s favorite pastimes were playing pool, auto repair, western movies, and country music. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was thrilled when he became a great-grandfather. He said, “Call me the great one.”

Mr. Kelley is survived by his wife, Debra; four sons, Tommy, Shannon, Ronnie, and Sam; two daughters, Jenny and Janie; eleven grandchildren, Tommy Joe, Colburn, Alyisa, Kaitlyn, Emma, Kaiden, Ethan, Bralyn, Zandar, Raiden, and Samira; a great-granddaughter, Cassie Jo; a sister, Fran Robinson (Henry); two brothers, Danny Kelley and Jerry Kelley (Kerry). He was predeceased by a daughter, Betsy; a grandson, Damien Schudel; and four brothers, Sammy, Roy, James, and Bill.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Cannon Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Cannon Funeral Home prior to the service.
