Catherine “Kate” Lake 88 of Fountain Inn, SC peacefully passed away on Friday October 23,2026. She was born in Crooksville, OH to James and Dorothy Batstone, as a teen moved to Florida and later to New York. Kate was never one to sit still for long. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, taking a walk in the sun, gardening, embracing the day to day of farm life or a relaxing day by the ocean. She always kept a favorite book close at hand, ready to enjoy a quiet moment. Some of her happiest times were spent around the dinner table sharing stories and making memories together. Above all, Kate loved seeing her family live full and happy lives. Their joy and happiness brought her such fulfillment, and nothing meant more than knowing they were making the most of every moment.

Kate is survived by her son Daniel Bronson, Six grandchildren Stacy (Jason)Maybach, Kerry (Harold)Perry, Chad (Amy) Bronson, Scott Bronson, Michelle (Sean)Kofoed and Ashley Bronson. Eight great grandchildren Brock (Brianna), Rosenberg, Loren Kate (Isaac)Maybach, Gavin Maybach, Jordyn (Isaac)Becker, Brooklyn Kofoed ,Havik Bronson ,Gavin Bronson and Eden Bronson, Two great-great grandchildren Remington Becker and Waylon Rosenberg. As well as Kathy Hessel who was like a daughter and many cherished friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jay Wm. Blackburn, son Harold ”Hal” Bronson Jr. and husband Howard W. Lake.

In accordance with Kate’s wishes, a private service will be held at a later date.
