Our Story

Generations of Service

Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home was founded in Fountain Inn, South Carolina in 1879 as Cannon Funeral Home by James A. Cannon. Arthur Dickson Cannon, the second generation, establish Cannon Memorial Park, and James Cannon ran it for decades as the third generation.

In October 2012, after years of thoughtful planning, Andy Byrd and the late James Cannon partnered to open a privately owned funeral home in Simpsonville. In October 2016, we reacquired the funeral home and memorial park in Fountain Inn, returning that operation to local, private ownership.

Today, the Fountain and Simpsonville locations serve families together as Cannon-Byrd Funeral Homes and Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park — locally and privately owned, and devoted to the communities we call home.

Our Promise

“We will treat your family the way we would want our own family treated.”

Rooted in Faith & Family

Locally & Family Owned

We are privately and locally owned — not a corporation. When you call, you reach neighbors who are invested in this community.

Full-Service Care

From traditional burial and cremation to memorial park interment and pre-planning, we guide families through every option with patience and clarity.

The Golden Rule

Compassion is our standard. We serve every family with the same dignity, honesty, and respect we would want for our own.

Our Community

Rooted in Fountain Inn & Simpsonville Since 1879

Cannon-Byrd has been part of these communities for well over a century. From our chapels in Fountain Inn and Simpsonville, South Carolina, we serve neighbors across Mauldin, Gray Court, Woodruff, Laurens and the wider Greenville and Laurens County communities we call home.
