Edith Caldwell Gross

Edith C. Gross, 76, of Simpsonville, wife of Baety Oneal Gross, Jr. went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

Born in Greenwood, SC, Mrs. Gross was a daughter of the late Earl D. & Anne Tomlinson Caldwell, Jr.

In addition to her husband, Baety, she is survived by their children, Neal Gross and his wife, Caroline, and Alan Gross and his wife, Catherine; grandchildren, Will Gross (Caroline), Lydia Winkles (Skylar), Capers Gross, Sid Gross, and Annie Gross; one sister, Susan Papp (Carl); and one brother, Earl D. Caldwell III.

Mrs. Gross was preceded in death by one brother, Stevens T. Caldwell; and one sister-in-law, Gene McKinney Caldwell.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at Presbyterian Fellowship of Fountain Inn, 417 S. Main St., Fountain Inn. The date/time will be announced once finalized depending on the anticipated inclement weather.
