Lorena Ruth Mostella Matthews
Lorena Matthews, 90, of Simpsonville, widow of Alex E. Matthews went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, November 7, 2025 while at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Simpsonville, Mrs. Matthews was a daughter of the late Ernest & Nettie Hensley Mostella. She was a long-time member of Temple Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Steve) Mobley, Judy (Butch) Crocker, and Susan (Rick) Stephens; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by three sisters, and one brother.
The funeral service will be graveside, in the Simpsonville City Cemetery on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Loretta and I went to school together in the 40’s and 50’s. She was always so quite spoken and quiet. After school was over our paths crossed once in a while and she was the same sweet quite spoken person.
I’m sorry to hear of her passing but I know you have lots of good memories.
