Myra Jacqueline “Jackie” Ayers

Myra Jacqueline “Jackie” Ayers, 82, of Simpsonville, loving wife of 62 years to Henry Joe Ayers, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 10, 2025.

Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Grace Ramey.

In addition to her husband, Jackie is survived by her sons, Henry Joe (Shannon) Ayers II, Timothy Dean (Constance) Ayers and Richard Erick (Lynn) Ayers; grandchildren, Morgann Denae Ayers, Peyton Elysse Ayers, Henry Joe (Tre’) Ayers III, Emmaleigh Grace Ayers, Carly Jacqueline Ayers (Devin Brazell), Samuel Andrew Ayers and Walker Brett Ayers.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Marion Ramey.

Her passions were her heavenly Father, her loving husband and her family. She enjoyed the mountains and working with plants and flowers with her husband.

She graduated from Anderson Girls H.S., Anderson, SC, in 1960, and Emmanuel College, Franklin Springs, GA, in 1962, with her degree in business. She retired from the federal government after thirty years of dedicated service.

She was a talented seamstress, cook and baker all throughout the year, preparing so many wonderful foods and treats.

In years past, she had served in various capacities of ministry: collegiate choir and glee club, various church choirs, children’s church, and ladies’ ministries, among others.

She was greatly loved by her husband, sons, family and friends, and is now sharing her wonderful, warm smile in the presence of her Lord.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Simpsonville Church of God, 130 Stokes Rd. Simpsonville, SC 29681. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM.

Burial will follow the service in Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park in Fountain Inn, SC.
